Whether you operate a global business or a local one, you will lose credibility as a business without an online presence. I work with businesses to help them incorporate their vision into their online strategies. By increasing your internet presence, you can support your vision and give your business the boost it needs to thrive in this digital age.
Consider the Data
I am always coaching my clients to base their decisions on reason and data-driven facts; 69% of today's consumers are more likely to visit a local business if it is listed on a social media network. Around 88% of people that search for a business using their smartphone will visit that business within a day's time. Despite the statistics, about 50% of small businesses still do not have a website.
The fact is that today’s consumers are online; they're reading product reviews, business reviews, and being influenced by companies that take time to market to them. If you do not establish a viable online presence, how do you intend to reach these consumers? Moreover, if you don't market to your consumers, there's a good chance that your competitors will.
Envision Your Online Presence
When I work with businesses that have not taken advantage of the internet in demonstrable ways, I advise them to incorporate their online presence as part of their vision. Once I fully understand the products or services a business offers, I work with company leaders to create goals to improve their online presence. It might be a ramped-up website or an improved social media presence. For others, it may be the creation of a mobile website or the establishment of a business blog. Moreover, I provide clients with the explanations they need for improving their online presence and syncing it with their overall vision for the future.
You Need to Market Online--Even if Your Business Sits on Main Street
Traditional marketing methods are still an important part of any marketing strategy, but the pool of customers that rely on these materials is shrinking. More and more people are connecting with businesses over the internet. Today’s businesses should view the internet as the most important tool at their disposal for marketing to customers conveniently and affordably. The best part, it comes with an incredible opportunity to track just about anything.
Trying out different ads in a magazine or newspaper is not only costly, but it is difficult to track the successes and weaknesses of your ads. With the internet, you could post five ads at once and know within hours specific results for each. From there, you can immediately act on the results. From understanding demographics of people that come to the site or purchased product, to utilizing responsive marketing, the advantages of a good online strategy are almost limitless.
I am regularly discussing business life, strategies, and decisions with other entrepreneurs. Whether you facing an existing obstacle, or perhaps an ongoing concern, sometimes an outside viewpoint that otherwise may not have been considered may be the difference of where your company will be headed tomorrow. The approaches to making decisions and strategizing your business is almost unlimited.
